A Mom's legacy

Mother's day has come and gone. If you're reading this your mom brought you into this world, and there's a good chance you are a mom. Those with school aged children have transitioned your students into a higher grade filled with new challenges and accomplishments. Carpools have once again commenced with mom's taxi service in full swing.

This past May, flowers were bought, poems written, even new shoes found their way into my closet for Mother's day. One day of the year singled out to express our love and appreciation for the woman who "brought us into the world, and can take you out of it, too"!

Not a day goes by that I don't think of my mom, mention her many attributes to someone, prepare one of her dishes for family, or see her in one of my four children. My mom, Violet was one amazing woman!

My mom was well known for Violet's Pumpkin Cake. Friends, neighbors, and the postal carrier received this delectable bundt. A tradition carried on through the years. I still use my mom's bundt pan she always used. My daughter-in-love jump on the tradition this year. Something that truly makes my heart so happy.

As we enter Fall with the amazing smells, tastes, and traditions I'd love to hear your family traditions and special dishes and/or desserts that are on your table during the next few months.
